I've been super busy because I started my own photography business! I finally took the plunge and decided to do what I've always wanted to. I officially started Steuer Studios in November. Check out my website at www.steuerstudios.com and see what I've done so far. I've had about 10 photo shoots. I can't wait for warmer weather so I can do outdoor shoots with natural light and natural backgrounds in parks, etc.
My latest venture was surgery the day after Christmas..goody. I had to have a salivary gland removed because it was ruined due to radiation. Isn't that a poke in the eye? They fixed on thing and broke another! The surgery was 2.5 hours and everything went as planned. I'm really sore. I didn't expect to be this sore. My teeth hurt, my ear hurts, my throat hurts and of course my neck hurts. I can't even open my mouth all the way so I have to take small bites and chew on my left side. I think my throat hurts because they intubated me for surgery. They must have scraped my throat with the tube. I have no idea why my ear would hurt. I go back to the doctor on Friday to get my stitches out so I'm going to ask. I'm really swollen, I look like a cross between a bull frog and John Goodman. I have an old lady waddle. I'm sure the swelling will go down eventually, I'm just worried about how the incision will heal. The scar from my surgery in March didn't heal right and it's raised and still pink. He said it should have healed flat and said that I'm prone to (insert fancy word here that means my body doesn't heal scars well).
Anywhoo..here are some yucky pics of me the day I came home from the hospital and the day after. The pictures just don't justify the swelling, it's more shocking in person.
