All about Karsen

I keep thinking to myself that I need to write down all of the funny things that Karsen says or does in his baby book, but I keep forgetting.  I thought it would be better to blog about it, then I'll always have it to look back on and I can share it as well:)   I looked back at my old blog I had on Myspace and read all the posts of when we were going through the adoption process, meeting the birth mother, his birth, etc. and it was neat to reflect on such as exciting time in my life.  I am going to print out that blog and tuck it away somewhere for safe keepings.

So about my little man..he's so funny lately.  I'm going to do a list of things I want to say because it's easier:

  • He loves sunglasses and thinks he has to wear them all the time
  • He LOVES the movie Cars, I call it his unhealthy obsession
  • He loves tractors, quads, lawnmowers, motorcycles and grandpa's trailer ("triller")
  • His new saying is "Oh hey" or "Oh hey ya"
  • His girlfriend at daycare is Elle, she's an adoreable little blonde headed girl in the 2 year old room
  • He loves cereal, but oddly enough he prefers to eat grandpa's plain bran cereal that smells like dirt
  • He says "I'm firsty"
  • His new obsession is tacos from Taco Bell, specifically a soft taco and a cheese roll up
  • He LOVES sour candy.  He likes Sour Patch Kids for his potty prize and doesn't even flinch when he eats them.  It makes my jaw lock up just watching him
  • He used to love all of his shoes, especially his Crocs, but now he will only wear his Sketchers tennis shoes.  Gee is he my kid?  He has two pair and doesn't like to wear socks so sometimes his feet stink.
  • He will NOT poop in the potty, he will leave the room to go have some private time to poop.  If you walk in on him he says "I'm pooping!" in a go away tone of voice.
  • He loves Dora, Diego, Yo Gabba Gabba ("gabby gabby"), Spongebob and The Wonder Pets (which I can't stand, I mean the duck has a lisp and the turtle wears a santa hat)
  • He went through a faze where he insisted on taking a shower after his bath, but now he's happy with just a bath
  • He's not good at all with his colors.  We thought he was color blind for awhile.  He answered yellow to everything.
  • His new favorite number to say is "sixty thirty", it used to be 35
  • He makes this high pitched noise while playing with his cars and tractors, at first it's cute but it gets to sounding like nails on a chalkboard
  • He knows part of the Pledge of Allegance, he learned it at daycare
  • He likes so sing Itsy Bitsy Spider and the ABCs
  • When he tickles me he says "spiders spiders"
  • He politely told me to shut up the other day, I was talking and he was trying to wach tv and he said "I can't hear it"
  • When we drive to Terre Haute and pass the Wabash Prison, he says "bad people" because he asked me a long time ago what it was and I told him that's where the bad people are
  • He loves grapes and could eat a whole bunch of them if I let him, which I don't because they make his plumbing work too well
  • He says " I just never did"
  • He favors his left hand, especially while eating
  • He says " I don't like it" even though he does.  He ate a whole bowl of spaghetti while saying "I don't like it"
  • If I ask him what he is he says "3 years old" ( I was hoping he would say I'm a little boy, but I'll take this answer)
  • If I ask him his name he says "Karsen Steuer" and it's very clear and pronounced
  • He calls me "An-der-uh" sometimes because daycare taught him mommy's name, if you ask him what daddy's name is he always says "Ethan".  I think another kid in his class must have a daddy named Ethan
  • As I am typing this he is watching Cars and shoveling big spoons full of warm oatmeal cereal in his mouth with his left hand.

What a cutie! Such a fun age! Adney said everything was "Green" for a while, and we thought he might be color blind, it runs in Kyle's family pretty strong. But he is gradually learning his colors more. So hopefully he isn't :) Thanks for sharing all about your cute little one!
