Yesterday Shaun, Karsen & I went over to my uncle Gary and aunt Linda's house for a family gathering. They had a gathering because my cousin Anna and her husband Danny and their baby Lily were in town and no one had met Lily yet. She's adoreable of course. Anyhooo..we ate dinner outside in the front yard and it started to sprinkle on us. We just ate faster and took it all inside when the sprinkling got harder. My cousin Katie has a Wii and she hooked it up for us to play. I knew what a Wii was, but I'd never played one before. We started out bowling. My grandma and grandpa even bowled. I think they really enjoyed it and were facinated by the latest technology. Heck I was facinated too. After we bowled Katie switched the Wii to boxing. I wanted to try it and who better to beat up on than my dear old husband. I didn't just beat up on him, I stomped him! I won all 3 rounds (go me, go me *insert cabbage patch dance*). Of course he had to hear about it the rest of the night. Let me tell you..that virtual boxing is a work out! We were sweating when we were done and today my muscles on my right side hurt. They tricked me into exercising!
In the midst of the Wii fun, I also played a few games of badmitton with the fam. The first match was my uncle Bill and I against my cousins Anna and Emily. Uncle Bill and I won:) The next game was Shaun and I against my cousin Anna and her husband Danny (also known as "forehead"). Who knows who won because we were all too mentally challenged to keep score. We also decided to start playing where we weren't allowed to move our feet toward the end so it was a lazy man's game of badmitton. Forehead got his nickname because as soon as we started playing the birdie hit him in the forehead and left a welt...ha!
It was a fun night spent with the fam. Everyone couldn't be there, but all the cool people were and that's what counts (wink). I'm kidding to whoever reads this that wasn't there:) Shaun and I talked on the way home about how much fun the Wii was and now we want one. I looked on ebay and on bestbuy.com at all the games and accessories it has, yowzaa! I want the rockband game! I'll settle for bowling and boxing for now though. We'll see...maybe we can find a deal on one.
